But first lets clear some things up. Butch Taylor is a wonderful man who shared so many Scorpion seeds with so many people and never charged a dime for them. He put his name on these packets of seeds he gave away. Great guy! But the Butch T is not a new variety or strain. Yes I can trace back my Scorpions to people who got seeds from him so I call mine Butch T Scorpions. But they are not anything but Trinidad Scorpions. Back in 2002 Butch got seeds from a hobbyist in New Jersey. A few years before that the guy in New Jersey got seeds from a nursery in Maryland. The couple in Maryland got their seeds from vacations they spent in Trinidad. Butch is a hobbyist and a sauce maker. Not a botanist, horticulturist or scientist. So some media reports that Butch genetically created this new World Record Pepper. Well I have a bridge in New York for sale too.
